ASANDRA, a bold abstract painter, is originally from New York where she studied at Parsons School of Design. She had her first solo exhibit in New York in 1991 before moving to Miami, Florida, and is included in the groundbreaking book, Miami Contemporary Artists (Schiffer Publishing Ltd). In 2011, she relocated to Southern California, currently residing in the Conejo Valley.
Her work is in the collection of Marriott, and Renaissance Hotels, and The Omni Int'l Resort and Spa, Orlando, FL. Exhibitions include the Fort Lauderdale Art Museum, FL, Andrews Art Museum, NC, and The Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum in Santa Barbara, CA.
Asandra's paintings are inspired by Southern California's undulating landscape and golden light. Although abstract, they reflect the topography, luminosity, and color variations found in nature. Out of these sources, bold geometries are achieved, resulting in dynamic imagery both symbolic and decorative.
