"Alchemy Unveiled: Defying Disjunction" Curated Video Installation by Featuring works by Exhibition on view through April 10th 2017 Wallspace is proud to present "Alchemy Unveiled: Defying Disjunction” , a curated video Installation by Angie Stimson. In this interwoven masterpiece, four women explore their collaborative creative consciousness through a series of daily interactions and reflections. Composed over a 365 day time frame, this multi-media visual journey gives viewers an intimate look into the development of a symbiotic artistic coven; which conjures a consistent flow and alchemy through the detailing and exploration of each artist’s life through their intimate connection and work. Erratic, passionate, with lulls of serenity and calm, the empowerment of female energy both reflects and invokes the labors of collaborative commitment to the birth of a tangible creation and its release Four monitors create a 21st century narrative relaying each truth into one; invoking the unpredictable power of female fusion. ANGIE STIMSON is a Los Angeles based artist originally from the UK. She received her degree from Saint Martins School of Art in London, is the founder of Siren Productions and the Exploding Cinema Short Film Festival. She has won awards from the Westminster Arts Council, and her work is frequently exhibited at Wallspace Gallery, as well as other spaces in the greater Los Angeles area. CARINA WYATT is originally from the UK and received her degree from Saint Martins School of Art in London. She was a guest at Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Braunshweig, Germany, and has co-ran printing workshops in Nsukka at the University of Nigeria. She is a founding member of Cubitt Studio and Gallery Project. HENNY LEES is a UK based artist who received her degree from Camberwell College of Art & Design. Her creative endeavors are explorations into textile design. She has worked on multiple projects throughout the London area. CHARLOTTE MALIK is a UK based artist who received her degree from Saint Martins School of Art in London. Her creative focus has been in theater and film over the years, and she has participated in multiple multimedia exhibitions and festivals throughout the UK. She is the creator of Mistakes Lab; a series of art workshops with young people challenging perfectionism. Wallspace is a dynamic gallery on La Brea that shows art in a non-conventional setting. Hung salon style on 14' high walls, the gallery aims to create a floor-to-ceiling visceral experience. We are excited about finding new visions and contributing to the launch of careers whilst also representing more establishesd Los Angeles based artists.
